The day we almost got hit by lightning!
Sendero Chorro El Macho or Chorro El Macho trail is located within 10 minute’s drive from the center of El Valle de Anton.
Tour Options
There are a variety of options to visit this park. You can chose to only see the falls, swim in the pool, take a guided jungle hike or zip line.
We highly recommend taking the guided tour. As you walk along the trail, your guide will teach you many interesting things about the local flora and fauna.
The Trail
The trail isn’t too challenging and takes between two and three hours to complete.
Did you know that the rubber tree is essential to our modern way of living? How so? It provides us with one of the most important polymers of the modern era.
Upon reaching a clearing, we see a tree with unique looking woven baskets hanging from its’ high branches.
Mid way through the hike, we reach the park’s private organic farm where we are offered some freshly picked oranges.
Watch out if you see a procession of ants in the forest. Fire ants and they pack a painful bite.
We reach the nature pool. No time to swim yet. We still have the waterfall to see.
Natural Pool
The natural pool is so inviting after a two hour hike in the jungle. It looks so calming. Time for a well-deserved relaxing swim.
