Our approach and DANGEROUS plane landing at Princess Juliana airport, over Maho Beach, Sint-Maarten.  Princess Juliana airport is arguably one of the 10 most dangerous airports in the world.

This airport is best known for its’ landing approaches mere feet above Maho Beach.

Tourists frequently gather on the beach by the airport to watch planes land and take off.

The tarmac is close to the beach and tourists frequently hold on to the airport fence while planes take off.  Despite many signs warning of the dangers of doing this, many of them get propelled by the strong jet blast.

In 2017 a New Zealand tourist died as a result of serious head injuries after being blown back by the force of the jet blast of a large airplane while trying to hold on to the fence.
