Imagine a place where the forest rises to meet you, where every step lifts you higher into the canopy, and where the Laurentians unfold beneath your feet like a living, breathing landscape. Welcome to Le Sentier des Cimes Laurentides, a destination unlike anything else in Eastern Canada.
Wooden Boardwalk
The adventure begins on the wooden boardwalk, a fully accessible pathway that gently rises above the forest floor. As you step onto the walkway, the sounds of the forest surround you: the distant call of birds, the soft hum of the wind weaving through the branches.
Moreover, the boardwalk seems to float above the forest, offering panoramic views that stretch beyond the horizon.
Panoramic Tower
As you continue along the walkway, the structure gradually leads you toward the centerpiece of the entire experience: the panoramic tower. Rising 40 meters above the ground, this spiraling wooden structure is the heart of Sentier des Cimes and the source of its famous “wow” effect.
The ascent is gentle and accessible, winding upward in a wide circular ramp that reveals more of the landscape with every turn. Furthermore, there’s no rush here, just a slow, pensive climb that encourages you to look, breathe, and take in the vastness around you.
What makes Sentier des Cimes Laurentides truly special is its philosophy. This isn’t just a tourist attraction, it’s a celebration of nature, accessibility, and connection. It invites us to slow down, to look closely, and to rediscover the forest from a perspective we rarely get to experience. It reminds us that nature isn’t something distant or separate, but something we’re part of, something we can touch, breathe, and feel.
But Sentier des Cimes Laurentides is more than just a viewpoint. It’s an experience designed to be lived, shared, and remembered.
The View
At the top, the reward is extraordinary. Notably, a 360‑degree view of the Laurentians stretches out in every direction. Mountains, forest, and sky blending into a panorama that feels both infinite and intimate. On clear days, the visibility is astonishing. It’s a moment that invites silence, reflection, and a deep appreciation for the natural world.
Imagine yourself standing at the top of the tower. The wind brushes past. The forest stretches endlessly below. The Laurentians rise and fall like waves frozen in time. And for a moment, everything feels still. Everything feels possible.
That is the magic of Le Sentier des Cimes Laurentides. A place where nature reveals itself from above. A place where every step brings you closer to the heart of the forest. And a place that stays with you long after you’ve returned to the ground.
After the climb, what better than to take a moment to relax on the netting, letting it hold us above forty metres of emptiness below. In fact, the air drifts up through the open weave, cool and steady, carrying the same quiet thoughtfulness that followed us during the slow, pensive climb. Suspended there, neither fully supported nor fully adrift, we settle into a moment of stillness that feels earned.
But tonight, we are hardly alone. The impending sunset draws in scores of people gathering to witness the shooting stars.
