The Spectacular Bingham Falls, located a short drive after crossing the Smuggler’s notch near Mount Mansfield in Stowe Vermont (in Lamoille county), comprises a series of beautiful cascades in a narrow gorge that culminate with a spectacular 30 foot waterfall.
On hot summer days, the large swimming hole at the base of the falls is extremely popular with bathers.
If you are lucky, you may just get to watch some cliff divers jump from the top of the falls into the basin below, not unlike at Rick’s Café in Negril, Jamaica.
Bingham falls were also known as the Orpha Cascade, Lewis Falls, Roaring falls as well as the Grotto Cascade.
While in the area, why not end your day by sampling some delicious Ben & Jerry’s ice cream right where they make the magic happen, at their nearby factory in Waterbury!!
