After having completed our long hike up the “Grand Brûlé” trail in the mountain, we enjoy a ride up the Mount Tremblant Gondola as we go back to meet up with some friends at the top of Tremblant Village.
Mount Tremblant is located in the Laurentians, some 130 kilometers (80 miles) north of Montreal. With an elevation of 968 meters (3,175 feet), Mount Tremblant is one of the highest peaks in the area.
Mont Tremblant is home to one of the region’s most popular downhill ski and snowboard areas. The area has hosted international events such as the IronMan triathlon, the Spartan Race, Mount-Tremblant International Blues Festival, Formula One, Champ and Indy races (at circuit Tremblant).
Tremblant is well known as a tourist hot spot. There are many hotels and restaurants catering to every taste and budget.
The Laurentians region is quite mountainous and is nested in an area comprised with lots of greenery, thus generally attracting people with active lifestyles.
Many popular activities are available within a short distance from the main site in Tremblant. Among them are cross country and downhill skiing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, hiking, swimming, ziplining, fishing, canoeing, camping and many others.
During the fall season, one of the center’s very popular attractions is the changing colors of the leaves. One can take the Mount Tremblant gondola system to take in the spectacular colors of the leaves on the mountain side on the way up and the breathtaking views of the Laurentians and its’ lakes back on the way back down.
