Today, we swim, kayak and snorkel along the beautiful coastline from the Club Amigo Los Corales and Carisol hotels and its’ beautiful beach, playa Cazonal in Santiago.

These hotels are located close to the Baconao lagoon and surrounded by the magnificent Gran Piedra mountain range only a few miles from Guantanamo Bay.

The Santiago area was hard hit by Hurricane Sandy back in 2012 which destroyed many of the area’s infrastructures, houses and crops.

Santiago is best known as the birthplace of Fidel Castro’s revolution and is also where the Bacardi Rum empire originates from.
